Bay Shore Cup

Awarded to the winner of the Mercury class at the GSBYRA Junior* Regatta held at Bay Shore Yacht Club, the Bay Shore Cup was donated by Kevin Donohue to encourage class participation. Should no Mercury compete, it is to be awarded to the 420 class winner. Many GSBYRA Clubs use the centerboard model of the Mercury, an extremely sturdy boat for sailing lessons, to introduce novices to sailing and racing as a team. Some of the Mercuries raced on Great South Bay are more than 50 years old. *Deed of Gift amended in 2015.
